THE GREEN COW CAFE

Our ORGANIC CAFE offers morning and afternoon teas and light lunches using as many organic ingredients as possible.  We are on the corner of Villanova St and Wanneroo Road (617 Wanneroo Road) Pearsall which is the next road north of Ocean Reef Road. 

We are open Tuesday to Friday 10am - 4pm and Saturdays 10am - 2pm.

Enjoy our PANCAKE BREAKFASTS every Saturday - blueberry or banana pancakes with organic maple syrup and free range bacon...or a full cooked breakfast using organic ingredients.  Our coffee is BioBean Cafe Femenino FairTrade coffee from Peru which is grown and harvested by a women's commune who receive all the proceeds from the sale of their coffee.  The coffee is roasted here in the Perth hills.  We always receive compliments on our coffee! Our cakes, sweet and savour tarts, frittatas, sausage rolls (meat and vegetarian), pies, lasagnas etc are all home-made by Deb or our pastry chef, Adam, on the premises to ensure only quality ingredients are used with maximum taste.  We look forward to welcoming you to the cafe.

A little bit about our philosophy:

Are you as worried as we are at the ever increasing amount of chemicals, additives, pesticides and herbicides in our food and in the products we use?

Are you as concerned as we are at the ever increasing number of friends and family with food or environment related medical conditions ranging from food intolerance and allergies to a range of cancers?

Perhaps you are also as disturbed as we are at the damage to our environment and to the inhumane treatment of farm animals.

Are you as disappointed as we are at the tasteless fruit and vegetables available in the supermarkets?

Are you as stressed as we have been at having to find a parking space at crowded shopping centres, waiting in queues, lack of helpful service and, more importantly, trying to find the time to do your shopping in our busy lives?

For these reasons Sue and Deb began ORGANIC n GREEN - your one stop organic shop. Situated on Wanneroo Road just north of Ocean Reef road in the northern suburbs of Perth, Western Australia, and providing home deliveries to the northern suburbs.

Our aim is to:

Provide you with certified organic produce and products at competitive prices. 

Offer you stress-free shopping as we are located in a small shopping centre with easy parking and friendly helpful service.  Our Wanneroo shop is on the cnr of Villanova St : the next road north of the intersection of Wanneroo and Ocean Reef Roads.  Look for our large A-frame sign with our sun-flower munching cow!

Reassure you that we can guarantee the organic certification of our produce and products.  We will let you know if some ingredients are certified organic while others are not in a product.  All our products have been chosen to ensure they are not harmful to the environment and we endeavour to ensure there are no harmful additives or chemicals in any products we sell.

Reduce your stress levels by offering you a home or office delivery service in the northern suburbs.  We will even carry it into your kitchen if you wish - but we wont have time to put them away for you I'm afraid!

You can go on-line to order each week, or give us a telephone call to leave your order or fax or email your order through.  Or you may like to ask for a box of seasonal produce for a price to suit you.   Your order can be prepared for you to collect or can be delivered at a weekly interval to suit you. Minimum order of $30 for deliveries.

When you choose organic produce it means a closer connection to the seasons and the seasonal availability of fruit and vegetables, meat and dairy items.  It also means you help the environment by helping to reduce the amount of pesticides, herbicides and other artificial chemicals in our environment and in our food chain. 

When you enjoy organic produce you realise how much you have been missing the full flavour and taste of fruit and veges - it tastes like it ought to taste!

When you eat seasonal organic produce you are eating fresh fruit and vegetables with no loss of nutrients through long storage in coolrooms.

When you are exposed to certain pesticides and chemicals in your food, homes and gardens this can weaken your immune system and perhaps cause allergies and other health concerns.  Food additives and artificial colurings and flavourings in food and drink are thought to contribute to hyperactivity and other medical conditions in young children.

When you shop with us you are supporting local WA organic growers.  We do our best to source our products from WA if at all possible.  Not only to participate in the development of organic production in this State but to also reduce the energy required for long distance transportation and storage and to ensure our products are as fresh as possible.
