Also known as Withania or Indian Ginseng, Ashwagandha is a shrub that flourishes in India and North America. The roots of the Ashwagandha plant have been employed for millennia by Ayurvedic healers. In Sanskrit, Ashwagandha translates as “the sweat of the horse” - which means that those that consume Ashwagandha are said to be imbued with the vitality and strength of a horse.
Ashwagandha is purported to improve the body’s ability to maintain physical effort and assists the body in stress defense.
